I just thought I would announce... that Fernley is not so bad anymore! Now that we have a Wal-mart, my trips to Reno are cut in half. And for a bonus, we even have a Lowe's, 10 new restaurants (including a Quiznos--yum, toasted subs), an ice cream shop, and we are about to get a Round Table Pizza and Black Bear Diner.

Unfortunately, the lovely roundabout pictured above is probably considered the "heart" of the city right now...I know, it is quite wonderful. Your eyes are wide with amazement, I am sure!

And I think this is the main drag.

And for a few more pictures, above is the park we most often play at. It is a nice old park with a lot of shade.

Here is our lonely little subdivision about a mile out of town. It is actually kind of peaceful. We have an abundance of open, desert landscape and a clear view of the stars at night. We need to go outside and look at them more often.

Here is a view of our street from our front yard.

And here is where we live. We have nice neighbors and are close to family and the lake. We have a large yard, a 1500 square feet house that fits our family well, and lots of projects to do. I think our girls are happy here. Ferntucky is actually a nice place to be.

And to think Brett and I will call this "Ferntucky" home all too soon. Thanks for the positive spin on things. I'm getting more excited every day. At least we will know some nice people out there already. We look forward to seeing you guys more often!
thanks for making me feel better about leaving....(I'm kidding, Ferntucky is actually a pretty good place to live, but we are not supposed to be here anymore...)
You have friends moving out here? How fun!
We love Ferntucky
I love this post nana! your house looks so cute, when did you put the stones down ( at least that is what it looks like) in the front yard ( next to your door)?
I want to come visit!!! Come to Vegas Yo! Hee hee... Your kids are so cute.
I love that place. I'm really glad you're getting some good new stores. that can make all the difference. and please take a moment to look at the stars. if their half as good as the ones at mark and anne's I'd be out there every night! we usually see 4 or 5 here at night.. that is not a joke.
Hey, I would love to live in the boonies :) like you! Even if Melia doesn't like to draw - she has her mom's artistic/creative mind!
I love this post! I think Fernley has its own charm, Annie. Really. Your house looks beautiful. I love the weeping cherry you planted, that is my favorite tree. Congratulations on hooking some large anchor and big box stores! Shopping with added convenience is bound to mess with the budget for sure! Happy shopping, Newt!
Where in the heck is Ferntucky?
I loved Fernley, and I am greatful for the hospitality. I was definatley one of the best parts of the trip. ( we got the flu once we were there and it passed around like the plague)
