My New Discovery

I have lived in the subdivision below for four years now,

and never noticed what is right across the street.

I don't mean the sunset, I mean the wilderness!

I run there a few times each week now as I prepare to run a half marathon.

It is such a great place to go for an hour or so.

I want you to meet my faithful guard dog, Rex...

along with my personal trainer,

and my sweet little passengers (holding hands, too!!!).

Pretty special, isn't it?

I can't believe you take your kids running...especially on a dirt road. At least you have a guard dog, I wish I had one...it might make me less anxious about trying out a new area ( I am always afraid of kidnapping in a new area, not like I wouldn't get kidnapped in the old area...maybe I am just used to my surroundings.)I am running clear out to Eagle mountain next weekend for my 12 miler....so exciting. I am doing 11 tomorrow...not that it is any different from 12, but at least at 12 you get to start going backwards in training instead of forwards. PS I am so doing a 1/2 marathon even if you don't come into town, so don't feel guilty if things don't work out for you. All I needed was a little push to commit to it...now I am so excited!

That is really pretty! What great shots you got out there. I am proud of you for being so active. I hope my desire for fitness will increase soon!

What a beautiful view of the mountains! I'd love to have those surroundings. I have a view of cows across the road. I guess it's better than another house!
You're a studly woman for running, and on a dirt road! I wish I lived closer and you could whip my junk in the trunk into action! Props to you!

Annie... you are surrounded by wilderness that I'm sure blends together, so I love that you have been able to look closer and appreciate its beauty. It's a good reminder to me to stop and smell the roses (or count the sage bushes).

Way to go on running. That is shear determination to do your runs with the girls in tow! Let us all know how your 1/2 goes. I'm too wimpy (lazy) to do one. I admire those who train for them:)
