Last week, we got this beautiful yellow lab from Danny's dad, Mark. The dog has been very well trained and is well mannered. He is 4 years old and his name is Rex, although Melia demanded that we name him "Steve" (--I know! We'll see how that shakes out!).
Things are going pretty well as we get used to each other, so far. He likes to come inside and hang out for a little bit each day, but then is happiest outside laying on the grass and chewing on his bone.
He has made one whole in the grass and chewed on one shoe, but he is very sweet, calm, quiet, and friendly to all of us as well as the neighbor dogs. He listens really well and now that he has been bathed, he smells alright, too.
I think he is a keeper! Overall, he seems to add peace to our family, me included, and I like him a lot.

How cute!!! Lab's are beauitful doggie's. How about naming him "The Steve-Rex", king tyrant labrador!
Melia is so cute and also absolute enough, the name will change to "Steve", and "Steve" will come!
Enjoy your new family member!
how cute nana-banana!!!
Rex -steve either way very cute!!!
A dog!? Wow! I don't know if we'll ever have a dog. I'd venture to say never. But I am glad that you are liking Steve...er...Rex. Good lookin' dog.
I keep having to tell you how cute Sophie's little teeth are. Davis has 12 teeth and is cutting #13 and #14. And...he bites...no fun!
lol...the code I have to enter in is 'flerba' Maybe you could name the dog Flerba
how fun! kids come up with funny names for pets...
You are a good woman to take on the responsiblity of a dog. I love them and think they are great, but I do not want anymore responsiblity.
That's nice he likes to be outside so much...especially in the cold! One day I'll make the leap! Love dogs but hate the resposibility that goes along with them. I can barely handle my monkeys that I already have! :) Rex/Steve is a cutie
